Pre-Incubator Engagements
Oct-Dec 2016. The Incubator Process
The last quarter of 2016 we held three (3) engagements on the introduction to authentic leadership with fifty people actively participated in the engagements. The main goals were to introduce them into catalytic style of leadership and to harness their passions, concerns, burdens and daily observations into ideas.
Early 2017 we held four sessions of follow up engagements as part of incubator selection process. There were twenty participants and fourteen completed at least three sessions. The target was to help them dig deeper to the root causes of the underlying problems and develop their ideas to systemically solve those problems using collective strategies in a collaborative environment. The selection process was concluded with one on one interviews with fifteen candidates with systemic ideas. The interviews were to check on systemic nature of ideas, their values, their ability, commitment and willingness to pursue the process and to collaborate with others.
Ten ideas were chosen for incubation process and 13th May 2017 incubator phase one was launched with seven incubatees and seventeen potential support team and observers. They meet every Saturday and so far we have tackled manifesto writing, team building using Johari window tool and the power of articulated vision.
They were four sessions of selection process (pre-incubator engagement) for solidifying and crystalizing the idea in the leader’s heart.
The main objective was to process the idea in order to bring out its systemic nature and select the best out of the rest. It was also a process to test the leaders’ abilities and commitment to their idea and the value systems that drives them.
The aim was to dig deeper the problem to the root cause and formulate an idea that will address the problem systemically. The focus was:-
1. Identify the sphere and God’s purpose for it
2. Align yourself to a sphere you are passionate about
3. Identify your unique role and assignment in that sphere
4. Identify underlying problem in each sphere that make them fail
5. Dig deeper to the root cause of the problem
6. Define your specific service that you are meant to serve in that sphere
7. Define and articulate your unique idea to address the problem
There were twenty two participants who registered for the sessions, five (5) completed the four sessions, nine (9) did three sessions and the rest either attended one or two. There are at least fourteen (14) potential systemic ideas to be incubated.
