Half Year Report, Jan-Jun 2017
5years of Leadership 555 Uganda (L555), 2012-2017 (featured Article)
Leadership 555 Uganda has been
operational in the country since 2012 though it was formally registered this
year (2017) as a civil society organisation. For an organization that largely
thrives on local resources, we have had a relatively low turnover where
majority of the staff have been retained up to date. Even when most of them are
either undergraduates or graduates, they have chosen to serve as volunteers or
part-time staff for this worthwhile undertaking. It is developing to create a
radical awareness of the global need for authentic leaderships in all social
spheres.
SUSTAINABILITY: built to last
From networking to Platform thinking. WilliamMukisa (featured Article)
A platform
can be defined as: Openness. It’s a foundation for connections that enables
people to share insights. Platform thinking is a game-changer, in that: leaders
turn from commanders to co-creators, customers to contributors, employees to
partners, etc. We are strategically switching from leaders being on the
sidelines to co-creation for collective impact; starting with the Incubator
as leaders are given an opportunity to either coach or facilitate sessions
therein.
· Dream Team assembled, 6 people aged 25 – 56 years.
SOCIAL
SUPPORT SYSTEM: The Tribe Toolkit
Artof Candid Conversations, Washington Ssebina Kaggwa (featured Article)
This is a unique approach to
dialogue designed to harness dormant energies around persistent community
problems. Relationships are built while addressing community issues with a sincere
desire to find lasting solutions to long-standing problems. Finger pointing is
squashed and a spirit of synergy is elevated as burning issues surface in the
process in a wonderful expression of ideas that could lead to sustainable
transformation.
SHARING ECONOMY: Interfacing with other leaders
UNHLS, Uganda National Health Laboratory Services, Winnie Namayanja (featured)

to develop their leading and managerial capacities eg, tribal culture, ‘Family Day’.

Over the last 10 years, Washington
Ssebina and co-host Kigula has run 3 teaching shows weekly on Spirit FM; fully sponsored

transformation. The cutting edge of this platform is reformation in the body of
Christ.

base.
Feb. 2017. Education Co-creation Lab
The vision is to catalyse a process of thoughtful collaboration with multi-disciplinary
stakeholders in order to synthesize Uganda’s
resources towards innovative and
systemic impact in education. This process is being led by Aaron Kirunda (Uganda
Spelling Bee) and a foundational strategy has been co-created. L555 hosted an Education
Catalyst engagement with six participants who explored the iceberg model and
co-created a forward-looking framework that would guide their continued collaboration.
