UNHLS is a dynamic arm of the Ministry of Health majoring in analyzing and diagnosis of diseases through laboratory services with international accreditation. It handles the prevention and control of epidemic outbreaks in the nation including Ebola and other health concerns like sickle cell anaemia and TB. With a national portfolio, UNHLS satellite centres operate mainly as hubs spread in regions of the country and the need to develop their leading and managerial capacities is ripe. L555 is privileged to contribute to this national noble cause. In the past six months we have engaged with this institution 7 different times at various levels of their administration and a clear prospect of a steadfast partnership is in sight.
On invitation by the UNHLS’ Chief Administrator, L555 conducted 5 exploratory sessions. These ranged from short talks at staff events including one on tribal culture at the institutions ‘Family Day’ led by Team Leader, Washington; to a sit down with top executives led by global partner Mark Orr. Later, the L555 team facilitated a successful 3-hour session on national collaboration and team work with 60 UNHLS district focal persons.
